New Delhi: Sedans are coming back in a big way and that is evident with the three launches already set to grace showrooms soon. There are three new sedans coming at different price points while these new cars would be aiming to tempt away SUV buyers. Here's a look.

Volkswagen Virtus

The Virtus will replace Vento in India within the Volkswagen range and will debut on June 9th. This sedan is the longest in its class in terms of length while the line-up would be divided into two trim lines with a GT Line flagship trim being available only with the 1.5 TSI petrol. Speaking of which, there are two turbo petrol engines on offer with two types of automatic gearboxes as well. Like the Taigun compact SUV, the Virtus is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. Expect features like a 10-inch touchscreen, cooled seats, digital instrument cluster, sunroof and more.

Honda City Hybrid

The City would be getting a strong hybrid option making it the most affordable hybrid car in India. Called the City e:HEV, it is a new hybrid powertrain with two electric motors and one petrol engine. The 1.5 litre petrol engine is expected to make 97bhp and the electric motors make around 105bhp. There would be a dedicated EV mode where you can drive through electric power or you can drive in hybrid mode as well. The benefits include high fuel efficiency at more than 27kmpl expected which would make it by far the most efficient sedan. The City hybrid will also get additional features like an electronic handbrake and a new interior along with ADAS features.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The new generation C-Class will make its debut next month and would be one of the most important models for Mercedes-Benz in terms of volumes. The new C-Class is a complete generation change and gets a new look which is in sync with the latest Mercedes design philosophy. The new C-Class is also bigger than the current version along with a new interior as well. In terms of space, the interior wheelbase is also expected to be increased with the new generation model and that would mean more space for its chauffeur driven owners. The interior design is also completely new with a large tablet style touchscreen, seen with the new S-Class while cabin design seems to be many notches higher when compared with class rivals.
