Tata Motors has been bullish on its EV strategy and now it wants to expand to the premium electric SUV space. At the last Auto Expo, we saw the Sierra concept but now we see a more production-ready concept at the Auto Expo. The Sierra now has four doors and a more realistic cabin design but the minimalistic look is still there with multiple screens and a simple dashboard structure.

The design of the exterior maintains the concept look but has a clear boxy SUV-like body style. The Sierra will only come in electric and will be the flagship electric SUV from Tata.

The other big unveil was the Harrier EV which is expected to come earlier since it looks more production ready while being obviously based on the Harrier. It gets a dual motor layout with all-wheel drive which does not come in the diesel Harrier.

The design has clear EV-specific elements like the front bumper look and the new alloys while the interior has a much bigger screen when compared to the current Harrier. We expect the Harrier EV to come earlier while the Sierra EV will come in later.

With these two EVs, Tata Motors is targeting the premium EV sector and will aim to expand its market share further. Both SUVs will have all-wheel drive and premium EV technology features. The big question is the price and how will both of the SUVs be positioned against the current diesel SUV line-up.
