New Delhi: Several passengers were stranded after all flights across the United States were grounded due to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) experiencing a computer outage on Wednesday, according to reports.

A statement issued by the FAA read, "The FAA is working to restore its Notice to Air Missions System. We are performing final validation checks and repopulating the system now. Operations across the National Airspace System are affected."

The stranded passengers took to the social media to express their disappointment and to seek further updates on the situation.

One of the passengers wrote, "Soooo anybody wanna tell me why all the planes in ATL airport just got grounded and they saying the FAA shut down ALL flights nationally cuz uhmmmm yeah."

Another shared a photo of a flight on Twitter and wrote, "The FAA has grounded all flights due to a computer outage. Sitting on a plane," while another tweeted, "Anyone one else stranded?"
