Maruti Suzuki has finally revealed the prices for its much-awaited new Jimny. The Jimny range begins at Rs 12.7 lakh for the petrol manual while the top-end petrol automatic is priced at Rs 15.05  lakh. The Jimny comes in Zeta and Alpha trims while it gets 4x4 as standard along with a 105bhp 1.5l petrol engine. Also optional is a 4-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. The Jimny in India is sold with a 5-door configuration and had made its India debut at the 2023 Auto Expo with this look as internationally the Jimny was a 3-door SUV which was deemed too impractical for our market.

Colour options include 5 single tone and 2 dual tone colour options. Feature list for the Jimny includes 22.86cm (9”) Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with HD display and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity plus an Arkamys audio system, climate control, cruise control, LED headlamps. Standard you will get a 7inch touchscreen, 6 airbags, power windows, rear camera, Brake limited slip differential, ESP and more.

Bookings for the Jimny 5-door started sometime back. To be sold across all Nexa showrooms, the Jimny 5-door is Maruti Suzuki's return to the off-roader space after the Gypsy.

In terms of positioning the Jimny is below the Grand Vitara and joins the Brezza and the Fronx in being the third sub-4m SUV from Maruti Suzuki. In terms of rivals, the Jimny will mainly compete with the Mahindra Thar however, the Thar comes in a 3-door form while the Jimny is obviously a 5-door. We have driven the Jimny and have said that it is an immensely talented off-roader while also being compact enough for everyday use along with a decent feature list.
