In an interaction with Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, he said that demand for Maruti Suzuki SUVs has gone up with the Grand Vitara fulfilling the gap in the compact SUV segment after the Brezza for Maruti.

The Grand Vitara completes one year and also has hit 1 lakh sales. With this SUV, Maruti Suzuki today is No. 1 in the SUV segment with a market share of 22 per cent. While speaking to ABP Live, he also provided an insight as to the Grand Vitara sales with strong hybrid garnering 22 per cent of the total sales for this SUV along with CNG also chipping in with 14 per cent.

Maruti also sells the AWD with a manual which accounts for a minority of the sales while the bulk sales are of the mild hybrid Grand Vitara which comes in both manual and automatic forms.

Maruti Suzuki has been aggressive in its product launch strategy with a big increase in its SUV portfolio. We have seen the Jimny already along with the Fronx, while it has the Brezza too along with the Grand Vitara of course.
