Hyundai has launched a refreshed new i20 N-Line facelift in India and the talking point here is the new 6-speed manual transmission which joins the range along with a DCT gearbox. The manual transmission is new and replaces the earlier iMT transmission. Other changes include new LED headlamps and an updated grille design. Elsewhere, it has 16-inch alloys with N branding.

Hyundai has now added 35 standard safety features including 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), 3-point seat belt and seatbelt reminder for all seats, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Highline, All Disc Brakes and Automatic Headlamps. While the interior continues to have a 3-spoke Steering wheel with the N logo, leather seats with the N logo, leather-wrapped gear shifter, and red ambient lights, the addition is a new infotainment system. The feature list includes equipment like a Bose 7 speaker system, 60+ connected car features, 127 Embedded VR commands, 52 Hinglish voice commands, Over-the-Air updates for maps, a C-type charger etc.

Visually, Hyundai has added a new Abyss Black colour to the range.

The 1.0L Turbo GDi petrol engine continues to develop 120PS and 172Nm while now it gets a manual and a DCT. There are two trims, N6 and N8 with prices starting at Rs 9.99 lakh for the MT while the top-end DCT is Rs 12.3 lakh. The i20 N Line remains the only hot hatchback in India currently and has been successful in the enthusiast space with a good fan following along with no competition. The addition of a proper manual is also a piece of welcome news and this adds to the appeal of the N Line. Currently, the N Line brand includes the Venue N Line and the now the new i20 N Line.
