Car buyers love the sunroof and it is one of the most talked about features in cars along with being the most desired. However, the correct usage of a sunroof is also important. One of the biggest issues is with panoramic sunroofs when passengers try to stand and stick their heads out. Numerous incidents have been reported and it is highly unsafe to do so. The panoramic sunroof is to make the cabin feel airy but not for sticking heads out. This leads to a point that the correct usage of a sunroof should be advocated for buyers since these days, due to social media, various stunts are being done that spread misconceptions along with the wrong usage of a sunroof.

This is regarding a recent viral video where a Scorpio N was put under a waterfall and as a result, water seeps into the cabin after a few seconds. A sunroof can withstand a certain level of water including rainfall but under a waterfall, with a much higher pressure coming in, is clearly not recommended.

Also correctly closing and operating the sunroof is important. A sunroof is not built for these things and owners must be encouraged to use them properly while not trying to do stunts like these. Driving under a waterfall or doing extreme stunts are not recommended for buyers since components have a certain limit.

While the sunroof is advertised as an important feature, buyers are trying stunts to test these to the extreme which is not safe for the car or themselves. Cars are engineered to certain limits including a sunroof and carmakers should encourage correct sunroof usage as well.

Since sunroofs are increasingly featured in compact SUVs and are getting more and more attainable, the new set of buyers coming in should also be taught what a sunroof is actually for!
