Rules for Observing Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat:


The person observing the Vaibhav Lakshmi fast should maintain purity in both body and mind, as cleanliness is of utmost importance in Goddess Lakshmi's worship. During this period, it is advised to follow a sattvic (pure) lifestyle and keep both mind and body calm.



  • Eating sour foods is prohibited during the fast, as it can hinder the success of the ritual.

  • The observer should avoid laziness, rise early in the morning, and refrain from sleeping in the afternoon.

  • The Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat puja is performed after 4 PM. Every Friday, after taking a bath in the evening, wear clean and pure clothes, and set up a small altar in the home’s puja room.


Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrat Puja Vidhi:



  • After bathing in the morning, wear clean, washed clothes and take a vow to observe the fast. Wearing red or white clothes is considered auspicious. You can observe this fast by consuming fruits throughout the day.

  • In the evening, after bathing again, spread a red cloth on an altar facing the east and place an idol or picture of Goddess Lakshmi along with a Shree Yantra on it.

  • In front of the Vaibhav Lakshmi image, place a heap of rice and establish a copper pot filled with water on top. In a bowl above the pot, place silver coins or any gold or silver jewellery.

  • Offer roli (red sacred powder), moli (sacred thread), sindoor (vermilion), flowers, and kheer (rice pudding) to Goddess Lakshmi. After the puja, read the Vaibhav Lakshmi Katha (story) and chant the Vaibhav Lakshmi mantra as much as possible. Conclude the ritual by performing Goddess Lakshmi’s aarti. After the evening puja, you may consume food.
