Surya Grahan 2024: The second and final solar eclipse of 2024 will occur on October 2, 2024. According to the Panchang, this day will be Ashwin Amavasya. It will also be the day of Mahalaya and the final Shradh of Pitru Paksha.

Although this solar eclipse will not be visible in India, its Sutak, the preparatory period before an eclipse, will also not be considered valid here. From a religious perspective, eclipses are deemed inauspicious, making religious rituals and auspicious activities prohibited during this time. Additionally, activities such as going outside, cooking, eating, and sleeping are strictly forbidden during the eclipse.

When it comes to solar eclipses, it is believed that their impact is greater than that of lunar eclipses. Therefore, while the Sutak period begins 9 hours before a lunar eclipse, it starts 12 hours before a solar eclipse. Once the Sutak period begins, no worship or rituals are performed, deities' idols are not touched, and even temple doors are closed.
