The holy month of Ramadan, also known as Ramzan, has commenced in Mumbai and various parts of the country, with the moon being sighted today. With this, the fasting period begins for the Muslin community. Taraweeh will commence tonight and continue throughout the remaining nights of Ramadan until Eid. Members of the Muslim community will be observing fasts from March 12 for the next 29 or 30 days, until the sighting of the moon for Eid.

Taraweeh:

Taraweeh prayers take place after the evening prayers and involve the recitation of the Quran. The sense of community during Ramadan is further reflected in the tradition of Iftar, the meal that breaks the fast at sunset. Families and friends come together to share this meal, typically starting with dates and water, followed by a diverse array of dishes.
