Dhaniya Panjiri Bhog On Janmashtami:
On the day of Janmashtami, Kanha Ji is specially offered Dhaniya Panjiri. This offering holds special significance. Dhaniya Panjiri is one of Kanha Ji’s most beloved offerings, which is why it is presented as Prasad on this day.
This Bhog is not only offered at home but also in all the temples dedicated to Lord Krishna. After the Bhog is offered, this Prasad is distributed among people. It is believed that consuming this Prasad ensures the blessings of Lord Krishna upon his devotees. Devotees also break their fast (Vrat Paran) by consuming this Prasad on this day.
Other Offerings On Janmashtami:
Along with Dhaniya Panjiri, Makhan (butter) is also an essential offering to Lord Krishna. Makhan and Misri (crystallized sugar) are Kanha Ji’s favorites. On this occasion, Lord Krishna is offered a variety of 56 delicacies (Chhappan Bhog). Dhaniya Panjiri is considered especially beneficial during the monsoon season and is very healthy. The birth anniversary of Kanha Ji is a grand festival, celebrated not only in India but across the world.
