Hyderabad: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of seven new judges to the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The approval was given in its meeting held on Wednesday. All of them will be promoted from Judicial officers to High Court judges.


The collegium recommended the names of Adusumalli Venkata Ravindra Babu, Vakkalagadda Radha Krishna Krupa Sagar, Syamsunder Bandaru,Srinivas Vutukuru, Boppana Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Chakravarthi, Tallapragada Mallikarjuna Rao, and Duppala Venkata Ramana.




The Collegium's recommendation will be approved by the President soon. It is known that seven judges, Justice Konakanti Srinivas Reddy, Justice Gannamaneni Ramakrishna Prasad, Justice Nimmagadda Venkateshwarlu, Justice Tarlada Rajasekhar Rao, Justice Satti Subba Reddy, Justice Cheemalapati Ravi and Justice Vaddiboina Sujatha were appointed to Andhra Pradesh High Court in the month of February. The recommendation was made in a meeting chaired by CJI NV Ramana at the collegium meeting on January 29.

With thousands of cases pending due to a shortage of judges, the process of appointing judges to all High Courts in the country has been undertaken on a large scale. The initiative of CJI NV Ramana fills almost all the vacancies. After Ramana assumed charge as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, he focused on recruiting judges and strengthening the infrastructure in the judiciary.
