Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh during a public meeting in Visakhapatnam. He alleged that the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government has been involved in corruption and has not achieved anything significant during its four years in power. Shah criticised the government's claim of being pro-poor, pointing out that the state ranks third in the country for farmer suicides. He also accused the YSRCP of misappropriating funds provided by the Modi government, stating that the state received Rs 2.30 lakh crore in five years under the current government compared to Rs 78,000 crore during the UPA regime from 2009 to 2014.

Additionally, Amit Shah claimed that significant amounts of money were lost due to corruption by YSRCP members and criticised Jagan Mohan Reddy for renaming the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme as YSR Rythu Bharosa and attaching his photo to the rice distributed to the poor.

Shah further alleged that Visakhapatnam has become a hub for anti-social elements and accused ruling party leaders of being involved in land scams and sand mining scams. He expressed confidence that Narendra Modi would win 300 Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 elections and urged the people of Andhra Pradesh to elect 20 MPs from the state.

Amit Shah listed various development measures undertaken by the Modi government in Andhra Pradesh, including the construction of a new airport for Visakhapatnam, two Vande Bharat trains, the modernisation of Visakhapatnam railway station, the expansion of national highways, and the establishment of central educational institutions.

Furthermore, Shah remarked that no corruption allegations had been made against the Modi government during its nine years in power while accusing the previous UPA government of being involved in scams amounting to Rs 12 lakh crore. He emphasised the Modi government's efforts in ensuring internal security and responding to attacks by Pakistan-backed terrorists with surgical and air strikes.

Shah concluded by stating that India's reputation had improved under the Modi government, with people worldwide welcoming the Prime Minister with slogans of "Modi Modi" as a sign of respect for the people of India.
