Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's arrest and custody has sparked protests in the state with his supporters taking to the streets since after he was arrested by the CID. Now, IT employees from Hyderabad have given a 'Chalo Rajahmundry' call to protest against Naidu's arrest. Police have started checking vehicles at the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border and warned the techies of action. Talking about the protest call, ACP Ramesh told the news agency ANI that no permission has been given to the IT workers for the protest.

"We have received information that IT employees from Hyderabad have planned to come to Rajahmundry to extend their support to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. No permission has been given to them," he said.

"Section 144 has also been imposed in Vijayawada city..." the ACP added.

Ex-CM and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is presently lodged in Rajahmundry Central Prison in connection with the alleged skill development scam. TDP workers had earlier burnt tyres, vandalised buses in Andhra seeking Naidu's release in Chittoor.
