Vijayawada: In a unique turn of events, a wife in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district built a temple and offers prayers to her husbands' idol. Hailing from a very conservative family, Padmavathi had always seen her mother worship her father and chose the same path in her life as well. Ankireddy and Padmavathi got married but unfortunately the former had died in a freak accident four years ago. Padmavathi was devastated and not knowing what to do, as time passed by she couldn't forget her husband.


When asked the reason behind her building a temple for her dead husband, she said that Ankireddy appeared in her dream after a few days of his death and asked her to build a temple for him, according to ABP Desam. Padmavati revealed how she built a temple for her husband. She erected a marble idol in the form of her husband and said that she had been worshipping since then. She also said that when her husband was alive, she saw him as God.

Padmavati revealed that pujas and anointings would be performed on special days including Ankireddy's birthday. It is said that Padmavathi served free food to the poor in the temple she built for her husband every full moon. She said her son Shivashankar Reddy was doing these services with the help of Ankireddy's friend Tirupati Reddy. Shivshankar Reddy, son of Ankireddy and Padmavati, said that he was blessed to be born to the couple, who respected for the values they generally possess towards everything and are termed as an ideal couple.




In a similar incident, in Telangana, a grandson built a temple for his grandfather. Mogulappa hails from the Navalga village of Vikarabad district and has no children. Adopted his younger grandson. Mogulappa raised the kid like his own child. Unfortunately, Mogulappa breathed his last in 2013 and this couldn't be tolerated by his grandson. He had then decided to build a temple on his own land in memory of his grandfather. Mogulappa's grandson, Ishwar said that it cost him a total of Rs 24 lakh.
