A day after 100 JanaSena Party workers were arrested for allegedly attacking ruling YSRCP leaders on Saturday, 61 of them have been released after signing a surety bond of Rs 10,000. But, the situation in Visakhapatnam, however, remains tense.


"The court released 61 JSP supporters on a surety bond of Rs 10,000. 9 leaders have been remanded till 28th October. The situation in the city remained tense for the third day as police barred actor-politician and JanaSena Party chief Pawan Kalyan from holding meetings or rallies," News agency ANI said in a tweet.






The nine JanaSena leaders who were remanded till October 28 are Kona Tatarao, Sundarapu Vijay Kumar, Murthy Yadav, Sandeep, Srinivasa Patnaik, Krishna, Rupa and Srinu.

The Visakhapatnam police on Sunday said they had served a notice to actor-politician and JanaSena chief Pawan Kalyan as his supporters allegedly attacked ministers, civilians and police officials at the local airport.


Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu spoke to Kalyan on Sunday and inquired about the situation in Visakhapatnam. He also strongly condemned the police restrictions on the movement of the JanaSena chief.


Besides TDP, BJP leader has also condemned the police's attack on JanaSena workers.
