Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N Chandrababu Naidu staged a sit-in on the road after the members of YSRCP allegedly demolished the Anna Canteen -- a canteen Chandrababu Naidu launched when he was CM which provides food for an affordable price for the poor -- before he could inaugurate one on Thursday in Andhra Pradesh's Kuppam, which is Naidu's constituency.
After Jagan Mohan Reddy took charge as the chief minister in 2019, the ruling YSRCP government shut down all the Anna canteens in the state. As soon as the YCP members demolished the building which was ready for the inauguration, clashes emerged between both the party members and the police indulged in baton charge to deescalate the situation.

Chandrababu Naidu who walked to the location with hundreds of his supporters sat on the road and did a dharna against the act of the YCP members. "It's a black day in the history of the Kuppam, this place has never seen such hooliganism," Naidu said.
"It will not take a minute for me to do the same, but I will not do it. You might have 60,000 police, but I have 60 lakh of loyal cadres," Naidu warned the ruling government in Andhra Pradesh while addressing the party supporters.
Meanwhile, Kuppam is on high alert amid Naidu's two-day tour to his constituency due to the violence that erupted. Public transportation has been stopped to control the gathering in the area.
