Andhra Pradesh: BJP MP Y Sujana Chowdary has expressed concern that threats and harassment by ruling party leaders are on the rise in Andhra Pradesh.
Chowdary alleged on Tuesday that the attack on a YSR Congress Party leader Subba Rao Gupta in Ongole and realtor Jagdishwar Reddy in Visakhapatnam was threatened. These rowdy elements in the state are on a rise, who claim the support from Chief Minister and other senior ministers, which demonstrate lawlessness in Andhra Pradesh.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Chowdary has shared how leaders are being threatened.
The incidents in which Mr Jagadeeswarudu of Vizag & Mr Subbarao Gupta of Ongole were at the receiving end of the rowdyism point to the height of lawlessness in Andhra Pradesh. Miscreants are routinely resorting to blackmail & threats in the name of bigwigs in govt.

He urged the victims to file complaints with the police without fear and email him a copy of their accusations. Assuring his support to the victims, he sought the complainants to email him a copy of their police reports at saveandhrapradesh2022@gmail.com
Chowdary demanded that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy quickly put an end to the practice, alleging that ruling party leaders are threatening others leaders.
Local YSRCP leader thrashed
The MP's remarks came a day after G Subba Rao, a local leader for the ruling YSR Congress party, was thrashed by a group of party volunteers for allegedly criticising some of the party's officials. Subba Rao was thrashed by a gang of YSRCP workers who claimed to be followers of energy minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy and compelled him to kneel and apologise. The video went viral on social media.
Chowdary, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha from the TDP, has later joined the BJP. It was earlier reported that BJP MPs had already lodged a complaint with the Union Home Ministry over the functioning of the police system in Andhra Pradesh.
