Two persons were severely injured in a reactor blast reported in a private pharma lab in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli on Friday. A fire broke out at Sahithi Pharma in the Achuthapuram Industrial Special Economic Zone in Anakapalli. Superintendent of Police (SP) Murali Krishna informed that the injured were taken to a hospital while a probe has been launched into the incident which will also ascertain if there is any negligence from the management that caused the blaze.






"A reactor blast was reported in a private Pharma lab in Anakapalli. In the blast, two persons received severe burning injuries and were shifted to a hospital for treatment. A case will be registered and an investigation will be carried out on how the incident took place and whether there is any negligence from the management," Anakapalli SP Murali Krishna told news agency ANI.






As per the officer, police teams and over four fire tenders rushed to the spot and are trying to control the fire.


"As of now, there are no casualties reported in the incident. Our teams are performing rescue operations," the Anakapalli SP said, as per ANI.


More details about the incident are awaited.


Earlier this month, a massive fire broke out at a shopping mall in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze.
