Hyderabad : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, conducted a review meeting on infrastructural facilities in SC, ST, BC, Minority Gurukula schools, welfare hostels, and Nadu-Nedu, at the camp office in Tadepalli on Wednesday. He issued directions over the operations of the hostels.
The Chief Minister issued several directives for the efficient management of the welfare hostels and their maintenance. Under the Nadu-Nedu programme, he instructed officials to start work in all types of hostels within a year.
According to the CM, a fund should be set up to maintain hostels in the same manner that one was set up to maintain schools. He also said that doctors should visit the hostels and monitor students’ health which should be mandatory. The Chief Minister gave the officials the order to raise the hostels' maintenance costs and meal prices.

Jagan directed the officials to improve the food menu given to the children and ensure that the food and facilities in the hostels are better than at home.
CM ordered that next year, permanent buildings will be constructed in place of the rented accommodation, and the existing hostels will be upgraded to the best standards. He said that the children staying in the hostels should feel proud of being there. The work in the welfare hostels and Gurukula schools should be completed within a year, said Jagan.
BC Welfare Minister Chelluboina Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna, Social Welfare Minister Meruga Nagarjuna, CS Sameer Sharma, Finance Special CSSS Rawat, BC Welfare Principal Secretary B Jayalakshmi, Social Welfare Secretary MM Naik, Minority Welfare Secretary A.Md. Imtiaz, Director of Tribal Welfare Department M Jahnavi and other senior officials were present.
