Directing medical and health department officials to complete the construction of village clinics by Ugadi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also instructed them to ensure full-fledged machinery to run the "family doctor concept" at the state, constituency, and Mandal levels. He also advised officials to partner with the department of women and child welfare for "family doctor concept" to ensure good health for all the segments. 


During a review meeting of the 'family doctor' pilot project with senior officials of the health department at his camp office on Thursday, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to implement the scheme effectively and provide the required guidance. He also instructed officials to prescribe medicine in time to the patients getting treated under the scheme. 


The Chief Minister also directed to complete construction of Village Clinics by Ugadi next year. CM Jagan said "There should be full-fledged machinery to run the family doctor concept at the state, constituency, and Mandal levels, with senior officers monitoring the control rooms at various levels to make the grievance and response system function systematically. A special 104 number should be made available to receive complaints from people on medical and health issues. This number should be made available at all places, including village clinics".


The CM asked the officials to identify the children, pregnant women and lactating mothers suffering from anaemia and transfer the data to the women and child welfare department so that they would be supplied with nutritious food and proper medicines.


CM Jagan also directed officials to deploy 108 vehicles to serve dialysis patients and to take strong steps in response to concerns about Aarogyasri services. Officials must pay attention to negative criticism of Aarogyasri services and rectify difficulties as soon as possible, said the CM.
