Andhra Govt's Body Of Overseas Residents Confirms Safety of 4 Andhra Pradesh Women Stranded In Israel

The four students are currently stranded in the war-torn Isreal which is waging a war against Hamas, a Palestinian armed group.

Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), a government organisation, said four women stranded in Israel are safe. APNRTS chief executive Hemalatha Rani said they are currently in a safe place in Kiryat Onu in the country. The four students are currently stranded in the war-torn Isreal which is waging a war against Hamas, a Palestinian armed group.

Talking to PTI, Rani said, "APNRTS’ 24/7 helpline is in continuous contact with the four women migrants from Andhra Pradesh, updating them with the latest information and instructions from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Embassy of India."

"Shared with them the advisory released by EOI, Israel,” she said.

Rani said Telugu-speaking individuals from the southern region of India are in safe locations and are following the guidelines provided by the Israeli government.

The NRT society is closely monitoring global and local media to stay informed about the current situation in Israel and its overall status, she said.

If the need arises, APNRTS has also made arrangements for emergency repatriations of Telugu migrants from Andhra Pradesh in Isreal.

India students studying in Israel are reeling under a stressful situation due to the ongoing conflict. The students said they are torn between leaving home and staying put. Goku Manavalan, an Indian student stuck in Israel said, "I am very nervous and scared...Thankfully we have shelter & Israeli police forces nearby. So far we are safe...We are in touch with Indian Embassy people, we have a good Indian community around and we are connected."

Earlier, the Indian Embassy has requested that all Indian nationals to "follow safety protocols" in the foreign country.

In an unprecedented move, the terrorist group Hamas invaded Israel, which retaliated with airstrikes.
