Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Tammineni Seetharam has suspended 11 Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs from the House on Wednesday for disrupting the proceedings.


As opposition members demanded a debate on the Jangareddygudem issue, Deputy Chief Minister Narayanaswamy presented a motion suspending the members for one day.


After the resolution was passed by voice vote, Speaker Thammineni Seetharam announced the suspension.


TDP MLAs Ashok Bendalam, Adireddy Bhavani, Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Venkatanayudu, Vegulla Jogeshwara Rao, Gadde Rammohan, Velagapudi Ramakrishna, Mantena Ramaraju, Ravikumar Gottipati, Sambashivarao Eluru and Satyaprasad Anagani have been suspended.

While the ministers were introducing the demands of various departments in the House, opposition leaders obstructed the Q&A session. TDP members chanted anti-government slogans at the speaker's podium and demanded a judicial inquiry into the deaths in Jangareddygudem reisdents.


Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy alleged that TDP members were obstructing the House proceedings deliberately. He blamed the behaviour of opposition leaders.


TDP members claimed that 25 persons died in Jangareddygudem town in the last few days after consuming spurious liquor, but the government asserted that all fatalities were natural.
