Telangana Govt Providing Only Ryhtu Bandu And Scraps All Other Central Govt's Subsidies, Alleges BJP President

The BJP president claimed that KCR had exposed the farmers to endless difficulties by making issues in the acquisition of paddy and blaming it on the Center.

New Delhi: While claiming that the Narendra Modi government at the Center was broadening an advantage of Rs 41,000 for each section of land to the farmers as a 90% subsidy on fertilisers and PM Kisan Yojana, Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday alleged that TRS government was providing assistance only under Rythu Bandhu and stopped all the other farm subsidies.

Speaking at the BJP Kisan Morcha state executive committee meeting, Sanjay said a sack of urea which costs Rs 3,750, is being provided to farmers just for Rs 350. Likewise, a sack of DAP manure which costs Rs 4,073 for each pack is being given only Rs 1,450.

“For every acre, it requires three bags each of urea and DAP. Besides, the Modi government has been providing annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000 for each farmer under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Taking into account the subsidy and PM Kisan, the Centre is extending financial assistance of Rs 41,000 to each farmer every year,” he said.

Sanjay proposed that while connecting with the farmers, each BJP Kisan Morcha should carry two bags - one everyone of urea and DAP, and explain to them about the welfare being extended by the Modi government.

“At the same time, you should also explain how KCR has been hoodwinking the farmers by denying all the other benefits to them on the pretext of Rythu Bandhu assistance,” he said.

The BJP president claimed that KCR had exposed the farmers to endless difficulties by making issues in the acquisition of paddy and blaming it on the Center. He claimed that the chief minister, who had reported shutting down of paddy procurement centres and stoppage of provisions to the Center, had taken a U-turn after people suspected foul play.

“With his inconsistent stand on paddy cultivation, KCR has become a laughing stock in the entire country. He calls upon the farmers to grow fine variety of paddy and the very next day, he warns them against raising the paddy,” he said.

He likewise blamed the CM for redirecting Rs 100 crore sanctioned by the Center towards soil fertility testing.

“We are not against alternative crops. But we won’t keep quiet, if the TRS government continues to trouble farmers without educating them and not conducting soil testing,” he said.

He asserted that KCR had betrayed farmers on crop loan waivers and workers by not paying salaries on time.

“On the other hand, he pushed the state into a debt trap. Like in the case of Sri Lanka, this one family rule has ruined the state,” he said.

Expressing that each part of the Telangana society is facing a distress situation, Sanjay said they had decided to put an end to the TRS rule.

“Having realised the growing unrest among different sections of people, KCR is enacting a drama of early elections. Many TRS MLAs are openly saying that they won’t be able to win if they contested the polls with KCR image and TRS symbol,” he said.
