Washington D.C. [U.S], Jan 30 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump reportedly told then-acting Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Andrew McCabe that he should ask his wife, who had lost a bid for political office in Virginia, how it felt to be a loser.
President Trump made the remarks during a phone call to McCabe, enquiring why FBI Director James Comey was allowed to fly on an FBI plane from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., after being fired, The Hill quoted a report by the NBC.
McCabe told Trump that he had not been asked about the flight but he would have authorised the same if he had to.
Trump fell silent after which he told McCabe to ask his wife what it felt like to be a loser, according to NBC.
The FBI head replied, "OK, sir," before Trump ended the call.
McCabe's wife had run as a Democrat for state office in Virginia but had lost the race.
The report comes amidst McCabe's stepping down from his post as FBI's Deputy Director. (ANI)
