Washington [U.S.A], Oct 9 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump has claimed that Republican Sen. Bob Corker dropped out of the re-election race in Tennessee after the former denied his request for endorsement.

Trump attacked Corker in a series of tweets, saying, "Senator Bob Corker 'begged' me to endorse him for re-election in Tennessee. I said 'NO' and he dropped out. He also wanted to be Secretary of State, I said 'NO THANKS.' He is also largely responsible for the horrendous Iran Deal!"

President Trump further tweeted, "Hence, I would fully expect Corker to be a negative voice and stand in the way of our great agenda. Didn't have the guts to run!"

Meanwhile, Sen. Bob Corker fired back at President Trump after his criticism, calling Trump's White House "an adult day care center."

Corker in a tweet wrote, "It's a shame the White House has become an adult day care center," Corker said. "Someone obviously missed their shift this morning."

Earlier in September, Sen. Corker had announced that he wouldn't seek re-election when his term ends in 2018.

The 65-year-old Senator is the Senate's foreign relations committee chairman, the post he took over in 2015. The lawmaker is only in his second term and was earlier considering whether to run again. (ANI)
