New Delhi [India], May 10 (ANI): External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj left on a two-day visit to Myanmar here on Thursday.
The visit is part of on going high level interaction betweens the governments of India and Myanmar, according to a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) statement.
MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted on Swaraj's departure to Myanmar.
Neighbourhood first! EAM @SushmaSwaraj emplanes for Nay Pyi Taw on a bilateral visit to Myanmar on 10-11 May. EAM will hold discussions with Myanmar leadership to further reinforce our bilateral ties.
During her visit, Swaraj will hold discussions with the Myanmar leadership on bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest to both countries.
As per the MEAstatement, the discussions are expected to review progress made on decisions taken during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Myanmar in September last year.
Several key agreements covering diverse aspects of India-Myanmar bilateral relations are expected to be signed during the visit.
India has emerged as a key development aid partner for Myanmar. (ANI)
