Spartanburg (South Carolina) [United States], November 8 (ANI): The University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg in the United States was briefly placed on lockdown amid reports of shooting at a nearby apartment complex.

The University issued a Twitter alert, warning students about shots being fired. The lockdown was later lifted.

One person was reportedly injured in the incident that took place at Campus Edge apartments. No arrests have been made so far.

The University tweeted, "Suspect is black male wearing khaki pants and grey hoodies carrying an automatic weapon. Shooting occurred at Campus Edge. Remain inside."

Later, it shared, "University Police has issued an all clear and the lock down has been removed."

Earlier on Sunday, at least 26 people were killed and several others were injured in a mass shooting incident at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. (ANI)
