London [UK], July 13 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump on Friday blamed his predecessor Barack Obama for the Russian annexation of Crimea again and claimed it would not have been annexed if he was the President back then.

"This was an Obama disaster. I think if I were President then, he would not have taken over. I don't think he would have done that with me as President," Trump said at a joint press conference with May here, reported CNN.

Asked how his government will now resolve the issue, Trump said, "We will look at that just like I'm looking at many other disasters I've taken over."

This is not the first time when Trump blamed Obama for the annexation of Crimea.

Earlier also he said that the Obama government was "too soft" on Russia over its annexation of Crimea.

Russia annexed Crimea, a territory in the former Soviet republic of Ukraine, in March 2014 following tensions with its neighbour.
