Islamabad [Pakistan], May 5 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi exuded confidence and asserted that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party will emerge victorious in the upcoming general elections.

Addressing a public gathering in Kahuta in the Punjab Province, Abbasi said the next general elections would prove to be better for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) than the 2013 elections, Geo TV reported.

Nawaz Sharif and the PML-N would win the next elections and the victory will be much massive as compared to previous polls, he added.

Taking a pot shot at the opposition parties, Abbasi said, "Politics of abuse and hurling allegations cannot work in Pakistan."

The Prime Minister remarked that the ruling party's developmental work in the country would decide for the public to vote in its favour.

"You may go anywhere, but you will only find work done by the PML-N," Abbasi said, adding, "Be it motorways, industry or other things, everything shows the PML-N's performance."

The general elections in Pakistan are due to be held in the last week of July or first week of August.

The PML-N government will complete its five-year term on May 31, and the caretaker government will then take over to oversee the elections. (ANI)
