Lahore [Pakistan], Jan. 17 (ANI): Pakistan's Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan on Wednesday lambasted the "mafia" rule of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz)-led central government saying that ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was creating scams every day and did not believe in democracy.

Addressing an anti-government rally at Mall Road in Lahore, the cricketer-turned-politician said, "Nawaz (Sharif) doesn't believe in democracy, I know him for more than four decades. He is only interested in creating scams. His rule is bad for the country's stability."

He also said, "Heaps of cases were registered against me. This was done only because I stood against them, to face them."

Imran has been at loggerheads with the ruling party on a number of issues ranging from terrorism to political instability.

The PTI is rallying support for the general elections that are scheduled to be held later this year. (ANI)
