Islamabad [Pakistan], October 19 (ANI): Former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and her husband retired Captain Mohammad Safdar were indicted by an accountability court in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Sharif family was indicted in connection with a reference pertaining to the London-located Avenfield flats filed against them by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Dawn reported.

All three pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court rejected the three applications filed by Sharif, Maryam and Safdar requesting suspension of the indictment.

Maryam and her husband Safdar appeared before the court today.

Sharif's indictment came even though he and lead defence counsel Khawaja Haris Ahmed are both abroad. (ANI)
