New Delhi [India], November 28 (ANI): Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar, who is presently on a mission to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene, has revealed that with the help of Miss World organisation she wants to take this initiative to a whole new level.
When asked how she plans to take her initiative 'Beauty with a purpose' ahead, Chhillar noted, "After winning Miss India, I was able to collaborate with a local manufacturer of Sanitary Pads, Walmart India. So we touched 20 village communities across North India. But now that I have Miss World organisation supporting me, I can take this initiative to a whole new level. I can broaden my reach and provide women with better system."
The 21-year-old medical student also opened up about the women that have inspired her throughout her life.
"My first role model was my mom. We have lived each dream together. Growing up, I have seen many women who were inspiring for me. One was Ms. Reita Faria, she was the first Asian to win the Miss World crown and what I really liked about her is that she followed her passion. She got many offers, but she always wanted to be a gynaecolohgist and she did that and now she is a doctor in Dublin," shared Chhillar.
Chillar also shared what she realised while participating in a big beauty pageant like Miss World and said, "your purpose remains the same when you are a Miss World and a doctor."
While addressing the media, the Miss World shared, "One thing I realised is that there is a lot of happiness in knowing that you have actually brought a positive change around. That feeling is the best feeling in the world. I also realised that being a doctor and miss world, your purpose in your life is the same. You want to make the lives of others more comfortable." (ANI)
