London [United Kingdom], December 23 (ANI): The London Zoo is on a lockdown after a fire broke out at a popular cafe close to the zoo premises.
Over 70 firefighters and ten fire engines are present at the spot to douse the flames.
According to the Guardian, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called at 6:08 am to the Adventure Cafe and Shop near the Meerkat enclosure in north-west London.
Eight have been reported injured so far and one aardvark is also reported missing.
A photograph posted on Twitter by LFB shows smoke billowing from the building as firefighters work at the scene.
A spokeswoman for LFB earlier tweeted: "Approximately half of Adventure Cafe and Shop, which also contains an animal petting area, is currently alight. It is not believed any animals are involved at this stage."
She also added that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. (ANI)
