Summer Vacation Tips: 10 Ways To Prevent Tan While On A Beach Vacation
Choose a sunscreen with a minimum of 50 SPF with a broad spectrum and water-resistant formula that will ensure that your sunscreen doesn’t wipe away the moment you step into the water. It is best to use sunscreen 20 minutes before you step out of the house.
Carry a sunscreen stick with you to keep on reapplying every two hours. Also, choose a sunscreen spray for your entire body and use a generous amount to cover all your exposed body parts.
Carry a round-brimmed hat ensures that your face is less exposed to the skin. Also, if you plan to go sunbathing or spend a long time at the beach, it is best to carry a beach umbrella with you.
Look for shaded areas while you are walking around to explore new things. On a beach you will come across a lot of covered shacks, so choose places like that to unwind while you let the sun out of your way.
Sunglasses are a must. They not only protect your eyes from sunrays and dust particles, but they are also quite beneficial for preventing your skin from sun tanning. Choose bigger shades so that they can cover a huge portion of your face.
Drink a lot of water when you are travelling. Dehydration can lead to skin dryness making your skin even more prone to tanning.
Once you are back at the hotel, cleanse your face with a mild cleanser to get rid of all the dirt and dust. You can also lightly exfoliate your skin to ensure that your dead skin cells are removed.
Maintain a consistent skincare routine of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing along with exfoliation and face masks before your trip to strengthen your skin's barrier.
Once you are done with the day, apply calming lotions, aloe vera gels, or even sandalwood powder masks to soothe your skin. Doing this little step will ensure that your skin is less damaged from tanning.
Avoid peak sun hours are between 10 am to 4 pm and this is the time when chances of getting tanned are the highest.
