BJP-JJP Alliance Crumbles Ahead Of Lok Sabha Polls Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday resigned as Haryana's CM. After a meeting with BJP and independent MLAs, he tendered his resignation to Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya. Following this, ex-Deputy CM and JJP chief Dushyant Chautala summoned a meeting. JJP-BJP alliance fell out after the saffron party reportedly refused to share any Lok Sabha seat. Chautala wishes to field JJP candidates in Hisar and Bhiwani-Mahendragarh seats. Earlier, BJP MP Bijendra Singh from Haryana's Hisar had defected to Congress. Bijendra Singh is one of the two Jat MPs from Haryana. The other one is BJP's Bhiwani MP Dharambir Singh. In 2019, BJP’s Dharambir defeated Congress's Shruti Choudhry to win the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh seat by a margin of over 4.4 lakh votes. Haryana BJP Chief and Kurukshetra MP Nayab Singh Saini will be the new CM. He is the face of the OBC Community and is said to be a close aide of former CM Khattar. Amid the chaos, BJP claims it has enough members to win LS polls in the state. 41 MLAs, 6 independents, and 1 from Haryana Lokhit Party.
