PM Modi visited Assam's Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on March 9.

It was his first visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

He spent 2 hours at the park and was accompanied by the park's Director Director Sonali Ghosh.

PM Modi was seen riding an elephant named 'Pradyumna' in the park's Mihimukh area.

While Kaziranga is famous for its rhinos, it also has a large elephant population.

He also fed sugarcane to three elephants- Phoolmai, Pradyumna, and Lakhimai.

PM Modi also enjoyed a jeep safari and stopped at Daflang Watch Tower, to get a view of the sanctuary.

The PM also took several photographs of the forest and wildlife.

The jungle safaris in the central Kohora range were closed since March 7. It will reopen for visitors on March 10.
