Unnao Rape Attempt: 2 accused arrested, says SP Harish Kumar

In another shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh, a video has gone viral from Unnao where three men can be seen molesting a woman.

The woman is said to be abducted from her home to a secluded forest area in order to rape her.

The video, captured by one of the accused, shows the girl being hounded and molested by a group of youths in broad daylight. The video is said to be two months old and was shot at Gangaghat area of Uttar Pradesh.

The three accused are from Baba Kheda Village. Based on an information provided by a woman, the Gangaghat Police was able to identify one of the accused, named Akash, who is already in jail for petty theft. The police is now on a manhunt for the two accused.

The Superintendent of Police, North Unnao, Anoop Singh said, "A video from Unnao in which three men are molesting a woman has gone viral. We are trying to find the source of the video. Our team is working on it. Once we identify the accused strictest action will be taken against them."

This shameful incident puts a big question mark on women’s safety in Uttar Pradesh. Unnao had recently hit the headlines, when its MLA, Kuldeep Sengar, was arrested last month by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the charges of raping a minor.

SP Harish Kumar said that two of the accused have been arrested whereas it is still unknown that where is the woman from.
