Amid intense global pressure to act against the militant groups after the Pulwama attack, Pakistan on Tuesday formally banned the 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed-led Jamat-ud-Dawah and its charity wing Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation. The two proscribed organisations has been banned by the Interior Ministry of Pakistan under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. They were earlier put on the "watchlist".
The development comes hours after authorities in Pakistan detained at least 44 members of banned outfits, including a brother of JeM chief Masood Azhar.
