This win marks India's 179th in Test cricket, establishing a record of more victories than losses, with a total of 580 matches played. Notably, Ashwin's contributions were significant, as he became the highest wicket-taker among Indian bowlers in the fourth innings, with 99 wickets to his name. India's record in home Test matches has been remarkable, remaining unbeaten for the past 17 series on home soil since 2012. Against Bangladesh, India achieved their 12th victory in 14 Tests, underscoring their dominance, with Bangladesh yet to win a Test match against India. In this match, India batted first and scored 376 runs, bolstered by Ashwin's impressive century. Bangladesh struggled in their first innings, managing only 149 runs. In India's second innings, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant both scored centuries, leading to a declaration at 287 runs, setting Bangladesh a daunting target of 515 runs. The visiting team was ultimately bowled out for 234 runs in their second innings, with Ashwin claiming six wickets.
