Shiv Sena's '50-50 formula' to bring trouble for BJP in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, the Bharatiya Janata Party had won 105 seats while ally Shiv Sena bagged 56 seats crossing the half-way mark of 144 seats. The Opposition Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) put up a great show by winning 54 seats and ally Congress won 44 with a combined tally of 98 seats. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursdy thanked the people for the mandate but also raised questions over whether the BJP or his party will get the chief ministerial seat in the state. Aaditya Thackeray won from Mumbai's Worli assembly constituency, beating NCP's Suresh Mane by a margin of over 67 thousand votes, according to the EC.
