Iran-US tension escalates: Trump, Rouhani exchange threats on Twitter

As Iran mourns the killing of General Qasem Soleimani in the US drone strike, President Rouhani tweeted, "Those who refer to the number 52 should also remember the number 290." 290 is a reference to 290 Iranian people who died after US Navy shot down an Iranian civilian plane. This came as a response to US President Donald Trump's tweet, "If Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago)"
