Iran: Thousands of mourners gather for Qasem Soleimani funeral

Hundreds of thousands of mourners have turned out in Iran to receive home the remains of Qasem Soleimani, the general killed by a US drone strike in Iraq. Mourners beat their chests and wept, carrying posters bearing the image of the leader of Iran's expeditionary Quds Force that organises Tehran's proxy forces in the Middle East. Soleimani's body was carried through the city of Mashhad as part of a grand funeral procession across the Islamic Republic.
