View In AppAfter Sheikh Hasina left the country, Bangladesh witnessed a surge of violence, with the Hindu community bearing the brunt of the unrest. Many Hindus were brutally beaten, their homes set on fire, and their belongings looted. In addition, Hindu temples were vandalized and set ablaze. Amidst this chaos, hundreds of members of the Hindu community took to the streets of Dhaka on Saturday to protest against the atrocities. The protesters voiced that the country belongs to everyone and is not the possession of any one community. They demanded immediate measures for the safety and protection of Hindus. The demonstrators chanted slogans, declaring, "This country doesn't belong to anyone's father; we have shed blood for it, and if needed, we will do so again. We will not leave Bangladesh." They also expressed their anger towards members of civil society for remaining silent during the violence against Hindus. According to a report by the Times of India, Kanu Kumar, one of the participants in the protest, emphasized that Bangladeshi Hindus want security for their homes and religious sites.
