Even as the world reels under the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19), claims are being made that China – who many believe is the country of origin for Coronavirus – has conducted several low level nuclear blasts. The claims were made by a news report which cited US State Department official as its source. The nuclear blasts were reportedly underground to avoid detection. This move begs the question, why is China testing nuclear weapons at this point, even when it already has over 300 of them? Is China flexing its muscles to announce itself as a superpower.
