West Bengal Elections: Significance of Bhowanipore seat

In this phase, the southern part of the city, especially the seats of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's stronghold , Bhowanipore will be mainly focused. Banerjee has contested from Nandigram this time, but has fielded Sowanadeb Chattopadhyay, one of the senior-most leaders of his party, from  Bhowanipore . The BJP has fielded actor-turned-politician Rudranil Ghosh from this seat.
