The culprit of Kanpur encounter was being brought to Uttar Pradesh from Madhya Pradesh after the arrest. During the journey, one of the cars met with an accident and turned over. Taking advantage of the situation, Vikas Dubey tried to flee but was shot dead in an encounter.
