Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday made an unscheduled visit to this western Uttar Pradesh town to meet the families of those who bore the brunt of the recent violent protests against the amended Citizenship Act.
She met the victim of police violence Ruqaiya Parveen whose wedding is scheduled for February 4. The police allegedly ransacked her house too.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Muzzafarnagar said, "I met Maulana Asad Hussaini who was brutally thrashed by Police, students of Madarsa including minors were picked up by Police without any reason, of them some were released and some are still in custody."
