Political tussle over the legal age of marriage for women | India Chahta Hai
The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to raise the legal age of marriage for women from 18 to 21. The Union Government's plan is to introduce an amendment bill for the same in the ongoing Parliament session.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MPs have made contentious remarks on this issue. Responding to the same, Akhilesh Yadav said: "SP has nothing to do with any such statement.
