SP MP RK Chaudhary demanded the removal of Sengol from the Lok Sabha and called it a symbol of monarchy in democratic India. During the oath taking ceremony in the Lok Sabha, he said, "Today, I took an oath in this honourable House that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India established by law. But I was shocked to see Sengol on the right side of the Speaker of the House."
